Description

Nice and complex nose with mineral and white fruits flavours. The mouth is full bodied, with great complexity. The finish is salty, mineral and surprisingly fresh for a 2015 vintage. A great wine to enjoy on its own or with fish, seafood, delicatessen and some cheeses.

Vineyard: FENOUILLEDES

The vinyard is planted in Saint Paul de Fenouillet, a small village on the heights of the Agly Valley (Valley of the Eagle in catalan). The vines are planted on hillsides that reach elevation from 300 to 500 meters. They are surrounded by the Pyrenees on one side, and the Corbières on the other side. These mountains form a wide corridor for our local wind called “Tramontane”, that blows 300 days a year. Around the plots we find thyme, rosemary, olive and almond trees. Altitude, wind and local flora make this high valley a paradox where southern vinyard can rhyme with freshness and delicacy.

The Fenouillèdes area is filled with diversity and freshness, but it is also very warm and dry on summer. Therefore, the vines supply lovely grapes but very few quantities (between 10 and 30 hectoliter per hectare, depending on the age of the vines). As a result our wines are full bodied and concentrated but our terroir has a great influence : the wind, the schist soils and the surrounding scrubland bring a real freshness onto the wines. In the end, they are full bodied but fresh, balanced, and easy drinking.

Yield: 15 hl/ha
